EIB invests in Szczecin mixed-use complex

Polish developer Porto was granted a €29 million loan by the European Investment Bank via Bank Gospodarstwa Krajowego (BGP) for the construction of a mixed-use complex in Szczecin. Thanks to the application of pro-ecological technology, Posejdon will reduce CO2 emissions up to even 76% compared to a similar building constructed using a traditional technology.

Helaba finances Atrium’s €170 million Warsaw acquisition

BNP Paribas Real Estate to lease Kraków office building

After nearly a decade, the Avatar office building will be offering office space for lease again. A total of 2,400 sqm of space spread over two storeys will become available for new tenants in Q2 2020. Shortage of prime product remains the big challenge

According to Cushman & Wakefield, commercial real estate in the first three quarters of 2018 the total investment volume in six CEE countries (Poland, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Hungary, Romania and Russia) reached €8.9 billion. Investment activity in Poland exceeded the value recorded for the whole of 2017 and is expected to reach a record high of €6 billion by the year’s end. The sustainable and solid performance was recorded in Hungary and Slovakia with volumes hitting those in 2017, whereas Russia, the Czech Republic and Romania are expected to close the year at lower investment volumes, slightly below the 2017 levels.

Skanska sells Katowice buildings to Philippine investor

Skanska has sold Buildings C and D of the Silesia Business Park, a four-building office complex in Katowice. The buyer is ISOC Group, a diversified real estate and infrastructure investment group, based in Manila, Philippines. This is Skanska’s first CEE office divestment transaction to a Philippine investor. With the sale of buildings C and D, the developer has now sold all four properties in the Silesia Business Park complex. Buildings A and B were divested in 2015 to a Swedish investor.

Polish brands take Romania’s retail market

Polish sportswear retailer, 50 Style, opened in October its first store in Romania, in Bucharest’s Iris Shopping Center, Titan area, on a surface of 315 sqm. Its entry on the local market confirms the real estate consultancy company’s, Colliers International Romania's, view of the Polish brands’ goal to expand in the Eastern European region, especially in Romania, where consumption has steadily increased in recent years.

New leases

  • Panattoni has commenced construction on the latest phase of Panattoni Park Gorzów II, developing a bespoke BTS warehouse for DPD Polska. The facility will encompass 5,300 sqm tailored to the courier company’s operational requirements. DPD Polska is scheduled to begin operations at the new site in August 2026.
  • Romanian strategic advisory firm Infinexa Restructuring has relocated its HQ to GTC’s City Gate South Tower in Bucharest. The move supports their integrated approach to delivering complex debt restructuring, insolvency mandates, and preventive procedures for distressed companies.
  • Sports Direct has leased 1,700 sqm in XOPark Sofia for its first Bulgarian store, in a deal brokered by CBRE.

New appointments

  • Panattoni has promoted Nick Cripps to the position of Head of International Capital Markets for Europe, the UK, the Middle East, and India. Based in London, Cripps is tasked with leading the firm’s global capital markets strategy across 18 diverse markets. He joined Panattoni five years ago as Head of UK Capital Markets.
  • PSN has expanded its acquisitions team with the arrival of Martin Šrytr as Business Development Manager. Most recently, he served as Real Estate Expansion Manager at Twistcafe Group, supporting the company’s EMEA growth. His previous experience includes consulting at Cushman & Wakefield, advisory roles at Prochazka & Partners, and management positions within IWG.
  • iO Partners has announced key leadership changes within its Czech Republic operations as part of its ongoing business evolution. Milan Kilik has been appointed as the new Head of Office Leasing, with a particular focus on client advisory and team collaboration. Concurrently, Petr Kareš has transitioned into the role of Occupier Business Development Director. In this new capacity, he will be responsible for identifying new market opportunities and integrating services across Tenant Representation, Project Management, and Industrial Leasing.
