HB Reavis to develop Poland’s tallest office tower in Warsaw

HB Reavis announced that construction has commenced on Varso Place, its flagship development in Warsaw’s city centre. Plans for the 140,000 sqm mixed-use scheme include one of Europe’s tallest towers and two mid-rise buildings. Completion is scheduled for 2020.

Over €4.4 billion transacted in Poland last year

According to JLL’s preliminary forecasts, the total volume of real estate deals on the Polish investment market in 2016 may amount to almost €4.4 billion. The real standout performer was the retail market which came in with nearly €2 billion, followed by the office segment with €1.7 billion and the industrial/logistics sector with nearly €0.5 billion.

Skanska sells Westin Warsaw to Qatari group for €56m

Skanska has sold Westin Warsaw, a five star hotel in Warsaw, Poland, to Al Sraiya Holding Group. The value of the transaction is €56 million and the sale was recorded by Skanska Commercial Development Europe in the fourth quarter of 2016. Echo Investment and EPP finalise €120 million purchase

Echo Polska Properties (EPP) and Echo Investment concluded final agreements concerning a joint purchase and development of a mixed-use project at 22 Towarowa Street in Warsaw. The property with an area of 6.5-ha is located in a rapidly developing part of the capital city and it is the largest commercial plot in the city centre.

New leases

  • MLP Group has signed a lease agreement with Langowski Logistics, a logistics operator specializing in international container transport. The company will occupy over 5,600 square meters of space in the MLP Pruszków II complex. The tenant was supported in concluding the agreement by Newmark Polska.
  • Nest Leasing has joined the group of tenants of the Teal office building in the Off Piotrkowska Center complex in Łódź. The company will occupy nearly 250 sqm of space.
  • Infor has extended its lease agreement in the Retro Office House office building in Wrocław, owned by Globalworth. The company intends to remain in the building for nearly 5,000 sqm of space on the two top floors.

New appointments

  • Dom Development has announced changes to its Management Board. Monika Dobosz will become a Member and Vice-president of the Management Board. In this position, she will replace Leszek Stankiewicz, who has submitted a declaration of resignation from this position. Dobosz will be responsible for the company's finances.
  • Dariusz Blocher has resigned from the position of chair of Unibep. The supervisory board has appointed Andrzej Sterczyński as president of the company from January 1st, 2025.
  • Agnieszka Słomka-Gołębiowska has resigned from her position as a member of the Supervisory Board and chair of the Audit Committee of Ghelamco Invest. The position of member of Ghelamco's Supervisory Board will be filled by Lidia Jabłonowska-Luby. An existing member of the Audit Committee, Jarosław Myjak, was also appointed to act as chairman of the Audit Committee.
