The modern stock of industrial spaces in Romania reached 5.9 million sqm in the first semester of 2022, with 500,000 sqm under construction and 44% of this volume already pre-let, according to a report by real estate consultancy CBRE.

Codrin Matei, Managing Partner, Head of Capital Markets at Crosspoint Real Estate spoke to Property Forum about the real estate asset classes that can attract new foreign investors and the high level of capital available for innovative projects. The agency has been generating growing revenues in the residential sector and expects business to grow in all commercial segments this year.

The retail market in Romania is set to expand by more than 500,000 sqm in the next four years, with 10 of the projects in the pipeline each having more than 10,000 sqm, according to  Cushman & Wakefield Echinox.

Danny Bercovich was promoted to Regional Director of Retail of GTC. Previously, he has served the company as the CEO of GTC in Bulgaria and Romania. In the new role, Mr Bercovich will steer the company’s operations and growth strategy in the retail segment.

Industrial developer CTP Group has recently delivered over 100,000 sqm in CTPark Bucharest North, which is becoming a new logistics hub for e-commerce companies. Following an investment of €160 million, this further expansion at the park is expected to push the total leasable area above 200,000 sqm by year-end.

Industrial developer CTP has started the construction of CTPark Oradea Cargo Terminal, the first industrial park with an air cargo terminal in Romania. The project is located close to Oradea Airport and the Eurobusiness II industrial park.

Residential asking prices in Romania grew by 2.5% in May compared to April to an average of €1,751 per sqm, with Cluj-Napoca remaining the most expensive market in the country, according to the Imobiliare.ro platform.
