The retail market in Romania is set to expand by more than 500,000 sqm in the next four years, with 10 of the projects in the pipeline each having more than 10,000 sqm, according to  Cushman & Wakefield Echinox.

As of 1 June 1 2022, the Board of Directors of NEPI Rockcastle has decided to permanently appoint Rüdiger Dany as Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and Eliza Predoiu as Chief Financial Officer (CFO).

Danny Bercovich was promoted to Regional Director of Retail of GTC. Previously, he has served the company as the CEO of GTC in Bulgaria and Romania. In the new role, Mr Bercovich will steer the company’s operations and growth strategy in the retail segment.

Industrial developer CTP Group has recently delivered over 100,000 sqm in CTPark Bucharest North, which is becoming a new logistics hub for e-commerce companies. Following an investment of €160 million, this further expansion at the park is expected to push the total leasable area above 200,000 sqm by year-end.

Industrial developer CTP has started the construction of CTPark Oradea Cargo Terminal, the first industrial park with an air cargo terminal in Romania. The project is located close to Oradea Airport and the Eurobusiness II industrial park.

Residential asking prices in Romania grew by 2.5% in May compared to April to an average of €1,751 per sqm, with Cluj-Napoca remaining the most expensive market in the country, according to the Imobiliare.ro platform. 

Equilibrium 2, the second phase of the Equilibrium project developed by Skanska in northern Bucharest, has obtained the preliminary Net Zero Carbon Buildings certification, granted by the Romania Green Building Council (RoGBC).

Romanian property company Eden Capital Development has secured the construction permit for a new residential complex in northern Bucharest and plans to kick off the building phase this autumn.
