Governments in Hungary and Poland have introduced new and renewed schemes to push the local housing market. The mortgage market has already shown some positive signs in both countries. However, the residential markets still face several problems which can not be solved quickly, says Guy Dymschiz, co-CEO of Duna House Group, active in Hungary and Poland.

The leading Hungarian developer hired a long-time expert to head its residential and office development businesses.

A leading regional parcel logistics operator has secured industrial space at East Gate Pro Business Park, developed by Wing. The third hall of the park was completed last year, and the fourth one is to be completed by the end of 2024.

Hungarian developer and construction company Kész Group will build a 5,300 sqm office building in the heart of the important Southern city of Szeged. Lufthansa Systems Hungary has already secured space there. The handover is scheduled for Q2 2025.

The new property will offer 28,000 sqm of warehouse and 4,000 sqm of office in Üllő, which already hosts other major retailers. The construction is to start in January and handover is scheduled for the end of 2025 and the early months of 2026.

Local developer Chain Bridge Venture Kft. (CBV) has launched a new development project aiming to build a state-of-the-art multifunctional centre not far from the Puskás Ferenc Stadium and Papp László sports arena. The handover is expected in 2026.

Full-service logistics provider DB Schenker has prolonged its lease contract in CTP's logistics centre in the important regional city of Székesfehérvár. CTP Hungary was represented by 108 Real Estate, portfolio.hu reports.

Western Europe has been witnessing several city-in-the-city concepts and CEE is following suit. Indotek is transferring the management of the Gordius Private Equity Fund to fellow Hungarian investor Diófa Fund Management, which will also take over the Belgrade office portfolio held by Indotek, Portfolio.hu reports. Indotek Group said it will use the funds released by the portfolio restructuring to finance domestic and international acquisitions. The company also announced that it had acquired a significant part of the Vörösmarty shopping complex in Budapest at the end of the year.

Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group has announced a new luxury hotel opening, following the renovation and rebranding of the former Gellért Hotel in Budapest. The renamed Mandarin Oriental Gellert Budapest is expected to open in 2027 with a focus on wellness.
