Panattoni has received financial support for the development of the City Logistics Kraków III project. The €21 million loan granted by mBank will make it possible to finalise the construction of this logistics park located in Kraków’s Nowa Huta district.

Karina Trojańska, Chief Financing & Operating Officer at Panattoni, comments: “Space in city parks has become a crucial link for e-commerce operations making the effective last-mile distribution of goods possible. This is of particular importance in Kraków, a city of almost 800,000 people with a huge potential market. Our response to the rapidly rising need for logistic services optimised to service e-commerce is to invest in City Logistics Kraków III. According to figures from Globaldata, the e-commerce market in Poland is going to rise 38% by 2027 when it will be worth over €24 billion.”

According to Cushman & Wakefield in its report entitled ‘City Logistics. Real estate strategies in post-pandemic Europe’, as much as 60% of all internet purchases worth a total of €676 billion in 2027, will be delivered directly to consumers, which means goods worth around €407 billion. “Such forecasts show how important it is to develop logistics infrastructure that is able to meet the challenges of fast parcel deliveries. With this financial support from mBank, City Logistics Kraków III is to become a major part of this process resulting in the faster growth of urban logistics development in Kraków,” adds Karina Trojańska. Upon the completion of the project, city logistics developments will comprise a total of a quarter of Panattoni’s total volume in the Małopolska region.

The construction of City Logistics Kraków III, which will have an area of over 25,500 sqm is scheduled for completion in August 2024. The project is to be certified under BREEAM for a rating of Excellent and will have solutions installed for saving energy and water. The centre is to meet the requirements of e-commerce and light manufacturing.

The park is located in the Nowa Huta district next to the S7 expressway and close to National Road 79 not far from a motorway junction. The site also has good access to public transport being next to the Pleszów bus and tram terminal.
