GLP has begun construction of its second logistics centre of 57,000 sqm in Gliwice, in southern Poland, following the signing of a new lease agreement with a leading logistics company.

GLP Gliwice II will span 57,000 sqm and will be located adjacent to the Katowice Special Economic Zone with quick and easy access to the A4 motorway junction and to national road No. 88. The warehouse will be constructed with two leasable areas providing 41,000 sqm and 16,000 sqm of space, respectively.

A provider of comprehensive logistics and transport solutions for industry and commerce has signed a lease for the 16,000 sqm building, which will be used to service a customer in the automotive sector.

The facilities will incorporate a range of features and innovations to enhance energy efficiency, sustainability and functionality including PV-enabled roof space, advanced utility management systems, enhanced insulation, and reinforced floor load capacity. The project has been designed to meet BREEAM ‘Excellent’ certification standards.

The investor for the GLP Gliwice II Logistics Centre is the Czech-based fund of qualified investors, Merity. The general contractor for this project is BREMER, and it will be completed by mid-2025.

Marcin Żuchniewicz, Business Development Manager at GLP, said: “We began construction of GLP Gliwice II in response to strong customer demand, marked by the signing of the new lease agreement. We are pleased that GLP has been entrusted with delivering a key logistics facility and look forward to welcoming our tenant upon completion.”
