Róbert Székely joined Newmark VLK Hungary as a senior hospitality and leisure advisor covering Europe. Based in Budapest, he leads initiatives for originating and executing hospitality projects. With over 25 years of experience in hotel development and operations, hospitality advisory, and asset management, he brings a well-rounded perspective to Newmark. He began his career at Marriott, holding various accounting and management positions. After hotel operations, he transitioned to consulting with Horwath HTL, working on numerous hospitality projects in over 20 countries including the UK, CEE, Balkans, the Baltics, Middle East, Asia and CIS countries. His consulting experience encompasses financial feasibility studies, single asset and portfolio valuations, transactions, due diligence, entry strategies, and management and franchise searches. His expertise extends beyond traditional hotels. He has overseen hotel openings in Hungary, Austria, Romania, and Japan, operated ski resorts in Austria, and worked on various other projects including spa and wellness resorts, golf courses, airport-related developments, theme and water parks, and large-scale tourism development projects such as destination redevelopments and regional and national tourism strategy developments.
