Ioan Alin Nistor is an economist and academic, currently serving as the Chief Economist at Banca Transilvania. With a distinguished academic background, he is a Professor of Finance at Babeș-Bolyai University in Cluj-Napoca, where he also held the position of Dean of the Faculty of Business for eight years. He has been teaching at universities abroad and has extensive expertise in corporate finance, banking, and behavioural finance, and is actively involved in both academia and the financial industry. He holds an MBA from the University of Hull (2016-2018) as well as a certification in ESG Investing from the CFA Institute. His commitment to values-based leadership was strengthened by his graduation from the prestigious Aspen Institute - Public Service Leadership program. He has also expanded his global perspective through post-doctoral research at Kobe University in Japan. Since 2020, he has been a member of the boards of BT Asset Management and BT Leasing.
