Christine is working as Principal Economist in the Convergence and Competiveness Division of the Directorate General Economics at the European Central Bank (ECB) in Frankfurt. She is currently coordinator of the convergence team and country economist for Romania. In this role she has been coordinating the ECB´s 2016 Convergence Report. She participates regularly as an observer in the review missions in the context of the IMF/EU precautionary programme. Christine has been working as an economist since October 1990, both at the ECB and the Oesterreichische Nationalbank (OeNB). She served as the Secretary to the Eurosystem/ESCB Monetary Policy Committee (MPC) at the ECB from 2000 to 2010. Christine holds a Master´s Degree in Economics from the University of Vienna, a Post-Graduate Diploma in Economics from the Institute for Advanced Studies in Vienna and an MA in “Intercultural Competencies” from Danube University Krems (Austria). She has publications on economic, political, gender and intercultural topics and speaking engagements on the EU issues, the functioning of the ECB and the ESCB and euro adoption as well as intercultural and gender sensitivity topics.
