123rd President of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors in 2004/5, Visiting Professor at two UK Universities, Visiting Lecturer at 21 universities worldwide, former adviser to the Bank of England for 14 years, and currently Chairman of the City of Bath UNESCO World Heritage Site. From 1996-2011, Barry was an equity partner at PwC - the first Chartered Surveyor to be an equity partner in a then ‘Big Six’ firm of accountants anywhere in the world. Previously, Barry had been the managing director of various commercial & residential investment & development companies. Since 2011, Barry has held non-executive roles as an Independent Chairman or Director of four public companies in three countries. An acknowledged expert in interpreting property markets, Barry won the Estates Review Property Insolvency Award 2009, and specialises in “strategic solutions for real estate within a business context”, with a focus on risk. Barry regularly speaks at conferences and has lead/worked on projects, in 34 countries. He is a respected commentator on business issues affecting the real estate industry, published well over 100 times, in the UK and 14 other countries.
