Andrea Róna holds the position of Group Director of Development with Danubius Hotels, responsible for growing the company’s portfolio on an asset-light basis. Danubius Hotels has over 50 years of experience in city- and spa hotel operations in the CEE region, with the headquarters based in Hungary. In the 1990s and in the 2000s, the portfolio grew by the acquisition of further hotels in Slovakia, the Czech Republic and Romania. With 41 hotels across multiple locations in 2019 the owning company CP Holdings - emphasizing brand essence - split up its portfolio to create two distinct divisions. Since then, the city hotels have been operated by Danubius under the „Danubius” brand or under international brands and the spa hotels have been operated and branded by Ensana. Prior to joining Danubius Hotels’ team in Hungary, Andrea worked with international hotel operators like Marriott, Hilton and Corinthia, then managed upscale and upper upscale hotel developments in Hungary. Andrea gained asset management and development experience at one of the biggest commercial real estate developers in the CEE region, Trigranit Development and Granit Polus Management. Andrea holds a BA degree in Hospitality Management and a Master of Arts degree in International Relations. Danubius aims to increase its portfolio by operating more existing or new city-, conference- and wellness hotels and resorts owned by second parties.
