In addition to the new acquisition in Brno, YIT is also intensively focusing on Kladno, where it is starting its first-ever regional construction by the end of this year.

In recent years, Kladno has become an increasingly popular destination for new residents looking for housing outside the capital. The convenient location (less than 30 km from Prague) makes Kladno attractive for those who want to use the advantage of the metropolis and live in a quiet environment with complete civic amenities.

Over 180 apartments will be built in four low-rise buildings in the Portti Kladno housing complex on the brownfield of former freezers. YIT plans to make extensive use of modern prefabrication technology. The Portti Kladno project will offer apartments for personal and cooperative ownership.

The increasing demand among those interested in purchasing their housing and investors is also related to more favourable real estate prices. "In Kladno, the average price is about 20% lower, which means significant savings for those purchasing their own home. For example, when buying a 60 sqm apartment, they can save more than CZK 1.5 million (€59,000), which represents a noticeable difference in the total amount of the mortgage and the monthly instalments," explains Dana Bartoňová, Business Director at YIT Stavo.
