Current owner Unibail-Rodamco-Westfield is reportedly planning to sell the Aupark shopping centre in Bratislava and is currently in the final talks with Czech investment group Wood & Company, according to index.sme.sk. The potential new owner is allegedly interested in purchasing the asset for around €500 million.
Aupark, the third-largest shopping centre in Slovakia with an area of 58,000 sqm was built between 2000 and 2001 by developer HB Reavis. In 2005, HB Reavis sold half of the centre to Unibail-Rodamco-Westfield for €75 million and in 2011 transferred the other half of Aupark to this Paris-based real estate company for €151 million. URW then invested a total of more than €20 million in the three-year modernization of the asset.
Representatives of URW and Wood & Company both declined to comment on the rumoured acquisition.
