7R builds BTS eco warehouse in Silesia

Net demand grows for Polish warehouses

Poland’s total industrial stock at the end of Q1 2020 amounted to over 18.95 million sqm (+15% y/y). The quarter’s solid results were driven by steady tenant demand as well as stable rental rates, which despite the growing COVID-19 pandemic maintained their height in most markets. Panattoni launches construction of new Gdańsk project

Panattoni has embarked on a new project, Panattoni Park Tricity East III, totalling close to 33,000 sqm. The park will be completed in a single phase and has already found tenants for more than 26,000 sqm. They are logistics operators: Greenyard Logistics Poland, providing services to the FMCG sector, which will take up close to 12,000 sqm, and Omega Pilzno, specialising in comprehensive supply chain services, with a lease of 14,500 sqm. Project commissioning is anticipated in Q1 2021.

Panattoni acquires 14.8 ha land in Central Poland

7R to invest in smart roofs

7R, a Polish warehouse developer, is implementing new technology to manage the risks connected with flat roofs. The "Smart Roof" platform, developed by Sense Monitoring, helps to prevent roof overload by alerting the building's manager in advance of potential danger. 7R will apply the system in the 7R Park Gdańsk II logistics complex in Kowale, where a monitored roof will cover over 60,000 sqm of modern warehouse space.

IFC invests €205 million in WDP’s green projects in Romania

IFC, a member of the World Bank Group, is providing a green financing package of approximately €205 million to Warehouses De Pauw NV (WDP), a Belgian real-estate investment trust, to support the construction of around 1 million sqm of resource-efficient semi-industrial and logistics properties across Romania. The green financing fits within a larger €750 million financing programme and includes green financing from third-party investors mobilized by IFC under its Managed Co-Lending Portfolio Program and from international commercial banks.

New leases

  • Eracent, an IT company, has renewed its lease at the Business Garden complex in Warsaw. The company occupies nearly 600 sqm of space in the facility. Brochocki Real Estate law firm represented the tenant in the transaction.
  • Knight Frank has located its Polish headquarters in the Vibe building in Warsaw's Wola district. The office occupies the entire ninth floor of the building and offers nearly 1,000 sqm of space.
  • Logistics operator DB Schenker has leased an additional 9,800 sqm in the Hillwood Rawicz (western Poland) logistics centre. The tenant has been operating from the centre since the autumn of last year when it opened a service centre with an area of over 17,000 sqm for a manufacturer of optical products.

New appointments

  • Piotr Krysztopa, a specialist in building technology and energy efficiency, is joining Avison Young's technical consulting department. He will strengthen the firm's expertise in data analytics and ESG solutions.
  • Leszek Stankiewicz has been appointed CEO of YIT in Poland as of 9th of April. YIT is the largest property developer in Finland, present in eight European countries. In Poland, the company has investments in Warsaw, Gdańsk and Kraków.
  • Paweł Dobrowolski takes over as head of the office department at CBRE Poland, replacing Łukasz Kałędkiewicz. Alexander Hofmann becomes the new head of the Warsaw office tenant representation team.
