CTP completes portfolio certification under BREEAM

CTP has completed the certification of its industrial real estate portfolio in Central and Eastern Europe. In total, 292 CTP buildings at around a hundred different locations in six countries have confirmed their BREEAM In-Use status at the Very Good level or higher. A number of properties have reached the Excellent level. This ranks the company as the greenest developer of industrial real estate in CEE.

Warburg-HIH begins conversion to green energy supply

Warburg-HIH Invest Real Estate GmbH has kicked off the process of converting its European real estate portfolio to green energy. The Hamburg-based investment manager successfully implemented the new energy supply for the LEED Platinum-certified White House office building in the Hungarian capital of Budapest in partnership with operating costs expert Westbridge International AG. The move will cut the building’s carbon emissions by just under 2,700 tonnes within the next three years. The fully let building is part of an open-ended special alternative investment fund (AIF) managed by Warburg-HIH Invest.

Impact Developer & Contractor invests in two Bucharest projects

Impact Developer & Contractor has started the construction works of the fourth phase of the Greenfield Băneasa residential compound. This will include Impact's first commercial project, Greenfield Plaza, with 7,258 sqm of space for trade and services and 1,184 sqm of office space. The entire project has a value of €12 million and it will be built with RCTI Company s.r.l. with which Impact signed a contract worth €7.5 million. At the same time, Impact is also investing €500,000 in the green areas of its Luxuria Residence compound located in Bucharest’s Expoziției area.

KGAL to be a climate-neutral asset manager by 2021

As part of a new climate strategy, one of the leading German asset managers is also targeting net-zero emission portfolio by 2050 – German investment manager KGAL has committed to becoming a climate-neutral company by the beginning of 2021 by offsetting all greenhouse gas emissions connected to its operations. Emissions calculated per employee will be reduced by 5% annually during the next 10 years. It has also pledged to have a net-zero emission investment portfolio by 2050. The targets are set out in the company’s newly announced climate strategy.

New leases

  • Eracent, an IT company, has renewed its lease at the Business Garden complex in Warsaw. The company occupies nearly 600 sqm of space in the facility. Brochocki Real Estate law firm represented the tenant in the transaction.
  • Knight Frank has located its Polish headquarters in the Vibe building in Warsaw's Wola district. The office occupies the entire ninth floor of the building and offers nearly 1,000 sqm of space.
  • Logistics operator DB Schenker has leased an additional 9,800 sqm in the Hillwood Rawicz (western Poland) logistics centre. The tenant has been operating from the centre since the autumn of last year when it opened a service centre with an area of over 17,000 sqm for a manufacturer of optical products.

New appointments

  • Piotr Krysztopa, a specialist in building technology and energy efficiency, is joining Avison Young's technical consulting department. He will strengthen the firm's expertise in data analytics and ESG solutions.
  • Leszek Stankiewicz has been appointed CEO of YIT in Poland as of 9th of April. YIT is the largest property developer in Finland, present in eight European countries. In Poland, the company has investments in Warsaw, Gdańsk and Kraków.
  • Paweł Dobrowolski takes over as head of the office department at CBRE Poland, replacing Łukasz Kałędkiewicz. Alexander Hofmann becomes the new head of the Warsaw office tenant representation team.
