IAD Investments makes record purchase in Slovakia

Slovak investor IAD Investments, acting through its fund Prvý realitný fond o.p.f., has purchased Laugaricio Shopping Centre in Trenčín, Slovakia. The original owners were private investors represented by Mint Investments. This sale, the largest property transaction in Slovakia this year, was brokered by Cushman & Wakefield.

Rockcastle completes acquisition of Olsztyn mall

As announced in October 2016, Rockcastle concluded a preliminary agreement to acquire Galeria Warmińska shopping centre in the city of Olsztyn in Poland from Galeria Warmińska Spółka z Ograniczoną Odpowiedzialnością Spółka Komandytowa. All conditions precedent have been met and the transaction was concluded effective as of 15 December 2016.

Immofinanz sells non-core retail portfolio in Austria

Immofinanz has announced the sale of a smaller Austrian retail portfolio to an Austrian real estate investor and, with this transaction, continues its strategic withdrawal from properties that are not part of the core business. The portfolio covers 88 properties with approx. 108,000 sqm of rentable space in eight Austrian provinces. The parties to the transaction have agreed not to disclose any information on the purchase price. The closing will take place in several steps through the end of 2017.

Immofinanz announces three new Stop Shop locations in Serbia

Immofinanz is continuing the expansion of its Stop Shop retail park chain in Serbia. Three new locations will be added in Požarevac, Lazarevac and Vršac, with a total of 23,800 sqm of rentable space. Futureal Group sells Polish shopping centre for €88.5 million

Futureal Group has sold its Polish retail asset, Nova Park to a joint-venture formed by MAS Real Estate Inc. and Prime Kapital Limited for €88.5 million. Over the last four years Nova Park, located in central Gorzów in western Poland has become the largest shopping centre in the region with a catchment of 370,000 people.

Knight Frank commercialises High5ive in Krakow

Knight Frank has been appointed leading agent by Skanska to commercialize the retail ground floors of all five buildings of the High5ive complex in Kraków. The project developed by Skanska Property Poland will be handed over for use in stages. The first stage, which will include two buildings right next to the Galeria Krakowska shopping centre, is scheduled for the end of 2017.

Polish retail market continues to expand

2016 was marked by the wait for the Posnania shopping centre to open, with its 60,000 sqm of Gross Leasable Area (GLA). However, next year we will see the opening of as many as three buildings with an area of over 60,000 sqm of GLA: Galeria Północna in Warsaw, Wroclavia and Forum Gdańsk.

New leases

  • Enlarged showrooms for three brands - Tommy Hilfiger, Calvin Klein and Marc o'Polo - have opened in the Wrocław Fashion Outlet. The space they occupy has increased by a total of 500 sqm
  • P3 Logistic Parks has leased the last available space in P3 Łódź City III. Rock Communication will occupy 9,290 sqm of manufacturing and warehouse space to be used for production and distribution of fibre optic and power cables.
  • The tenants of the Galeria Wołomin retail park near Warsaw have been joined by the Tedi chain. The new salon took up an area of over 700 sqm.

New appointments

  • Ghelamco Invest has announced the reorganisation of its board of directors. Jarosław Zagórski, Joanna Krawczyk-Nasiłowska, Arnold Neuville, Jarosław Fiutowski, Damian Woźniak and Rafał Gierczak resigned as members of the company's board. As a result, the board consists of Paul Gheysens, Michael Gheysens, Marie-Julie Gheysens, Christiaan Heggerick and Jarosław Jukiel. This reduced number of board members (from 11 to 5) is expected to streamline the decision-making process, allowing all stakeholders to focus on their core roles.
  • Joanna Bieniek has taken up the position of Head of Leasing at Galeria Askana in Gorzów Wielkopolski (Western Poland). Prior to joining the Galeria Askana team, she headed the leasing department at Cream Property Advisors.
  • Balint Szécsényi has resigned as a member of GTC's supervisory board with immediate effect. The resignation was announced by the company's Board of Directors.
