YIT launches new project Happi Milánská in Prague 15

Prague wants to build cooperative flats, but councillors disagree

The City of Prague wants to build cooperative flats where the city could continue to rent out one-third of the flats. However, the councillors disagree on the conditions under which the entire project should be implemented in Prague 5. If they agree and construction begins, the project would offer cooperatives favourable conditions for financing housing without a mortgage and cheaper prices for construction by the developer. The councillors are now trying to find a compromise to get the project off the ground, reports Seznamzprávy.cz.

Bratislava has a new plan for recovering the old town

Since the 1970s, the centre of Bratislava's Old Town has been divided by the multi-stream road Staroměstská Street. The City Hall, together with the Bratislava Metropolitan Institute, now has a plan to improve the area. They want to build a park and a large pedestrian plaza above the road to bring the divided city together and add a new residential and recreational space to the city, the Slovak capital's city hall has announced.

PSN prepares large rental projects in Prague

Due to the high prices of flats and houses, less availability of mortgages, extreme inflation, as well as the rising price of building materials and labour, people in the Czech Republic are now looking more for rental housing. The influx of refugees from Ukraine has also significantly increased the interest in renting. Under the influence of the enormous demand, rental prices are thus starting to reach the pre-Covida level, and in some places have already exceeded it. According to PSN, the availability of apartments is decreasing and the company is now preparing entire projects for rental housing.

New leases

  • Rondocarton, a supplier of packaging solutions made from cardboard and corrugated cardboard, part of the Rondo Ganahl Group, has leased 4,580 sqm in VGP Park Timișoara for storage operations.
  • Employment agency PowerJobs has joined the tenants of the Nowe Katowickie Centrum Biznesu office building. The company has leased nearly 350 sqm of space. The Katowice team of Cushman & Wakefield was responsible for guiding the tenant through the negotiation and signing of the lease.
  • Phoenix Pharma has decided to expand its existing lease at the European Logistics Fund 2 logistics park in Konotopa near Warsaw by an additional approximately 5,700 sqm. Under the new long-term agreement, the company has more than doubled its occupied space, to around 12.5 thousand sqm.

New appointments

  • MLP Group has appointed Piotr Kowalski as Head of Project Management for Poland and Romania. He will oversee all phases of construction projects in both markets, from concept through to property handover.
  • Agnieszka Niezgodzka joined Accolade as Associate Director of Asset Management. Her duties will be growing the portfolio and increasing the value of the properties.
  • Bartłomiej Polnik has joined Savills as Associate Director, Senior Project & Development Manager PRS & Living Sectors in the PBC department.
