Flex space providers expand in Bucharest

CBRE advised flexible space provider Regus in the opening of its 12th centre at Sun Business Center project, located within Sun Plaza shopping centre. The decision of Regus responds to the demand for flexible spaces from companies in the northern half of the city, in order to provide an alternative for the employees living in the southern area, their share being estimated at 50% of the total staff.

Spaces enters the Katowice market

Coworking gains popularity in the CEE region

The increased interest of global corporations in coworking spaces was a notable trend that impacted on the office markets of the four largest capital cities in Central and Eastern Europe (CEE) in 2018. The total flexible office stock of Budapest, Moscow, Prague and Warsaw stands at 286,000 sqm, accounting for approximately 1% of the combined office market of these cities (29.9 million sqm). Demand generated by coworking operators in 2018 made up 5% of the overall office take-up in the CEE capital cities.

Spaces expands in Prague and Budapest

JLL has provided space for 2 new branches of the international provider of co-working offices Spaces. In November this year, Spaces open in the low-energy building Nile House in Karlín, where they will occupy more than 3,500 sqm. One month later, they will take over 3,300 sqm in the SmíchOFF office building in Prague 5. At the same time, Spaces announced its first location in Hungary. The co-working operator will move into GTC White House in Budapest in Q4 2019. CBRE acted as adviser to the deal.

New leases

  • Gemini Park Tarnów (southern Poland) is strengthening its offer with a new lifestyle clothing and footwear brand. The JD Sports store, with an area of over 400 sqm, will open to customers later this spring.
  • Lenovo and Motorola have opened their first showroom in the centre of Warsaw. The new showroom space was created on the ground floor of the Warszawa Hotel, in the historic Prudential building. Lenovo and Motorola took up an area of over 200 sqm on the ground floor of the building.
  • Catalyst Capital, the owner of Warsaw's Harmony Office Center, has signed an agreement under which premium flexible office operator The Shire—Beyond Coworking will lease approximately 1,400 sqm of space.

New appointments

  • Cushman & Wakefield has expanded its valuation team with the appointment of Marcin Malmon as Head of Valuation & Advisory and Monika Leszczyk, Deputy Head of Valuation & Advisory, as Head of Business Development.
  • The Valuation Department at consultancy Savills has strengthened its team. The new members are Karolina Sabatowska-Gomułka as Associate Director and Magdalena Ziółkowska as Consultant.
  • Bartosz Frąckowiak has become the new head of the CBRE office in Poznań (western Poland). He will be responsible for the integration of all CBRE business lines in the Wielkopolska region.
