Real estate investment experts are not too worried about the potential negative impacts of the second Trump presidency on Europe’s economy. However, they agree that Europe as a whole must react quickly to improve its competitiveness. That was one of the key messages of the opening panel of CEE Property Forum 2024, held last week in Vienna.

CEE property investment volumes hit €5.0 billion in the first three quarters of 2024, up 24% year-on-year, according to a Colliers report.

Property group NEPI Rockcastle has posted a 12.3% growth in net operating income to €411 million in the first nine months of 2024 versus the same period of 2023 over higher rents and short-term income.

GTC Group’s management board has announced the acquisition of a residential portfolio in Germany, currently held by Peach Property Group. The portfolio is spread around the cities of Kaiserslautern, Helmstedt, and Heidenheim. It comprises 5,165 residential, 47 commercial units, 71 other units, and 2,108 parking units with a total leasable area of 324,167 sqm. GTC said the portfolio has an adjusted property value of approximately €448 million based on full ownership.

Romania’s property investment market reached close to €655 million in the first nine months of 2024, up by 169% compared to the same period of last year, according to an iO Partners report.

CEE is one of the most promising locations for e-commerce, according to the latest report from Cushman & Wakefield. In addition, data from Cushman & Wakefield shows that Poland accounts for over half of the turnover reported in the CEE region. The growth outlook for the Polish e-commerce sector is even more positive, as logistics costs in Poland - which are strategically important for e-commerce - are 18% lower than in the Czech Republic and 50% lower than in Germany.
