GLP announces the lease of a 40,000 sqm facility at GLP Wroclaw V Logistics Centre to SHEIN, a global e-commerce company. The new facility will open by the end of the year and serve as its Central and Eastern European distribution hub.
SHEIN is a global fashion and lifestyle e-retailer committed to making the beauty of fashion accessible to all. Founded in 2012, SHEIN has nearly 10,000 employees reaching customers in more than 150 countries. The company uses on-demand technology to connect suppliers to its agile supply chain, reducing inventory waste and helping conserve natural resources in the production process.
“We are actively engaged in the construction of the distribution hub and plan to recruit more than 1,000 operators by mid-2023. SHEIN is committed to making the beauty of fashion accessible to all. We will continue to deepen localization efforts in various markets across the globe, to provide better services to local consumers, and to contribute to the growth of local economies,” SHEIN stated.
SHEIN’s new distribution hub at GLP Wroclaw V Logistics Centre will benefit from excellent transport links enabling it to quickly deliver products to its customers. The nearby S8 junction provides a seamless connection to the A4 and A8 Motorways and S3 and S5 Expressways, allowing for efficiently distribute of goods throughout Poland, as well as to neighbouring countries Germany and the Czech Republic. The development also provides convenient public transport links via commuter railways and the local bus network to central Wroclaw and its suburbs, ensuring easy access for employees.
Michał Szczepaniak, Business Development Manager GLP responsible for the project commented: “We are excited to welcome SHEIN to Wroclaw. We look forward to supporting the business as it expands its operations and delivery network in the region. This significant transaction for the e-commerce market in Poland marks yet another successful step in GLP’s long-term relationship with SHEIN. The e-retailer already leases logistics space from GLP in countries such as US, Brazil and China, and we are thrilled that their footprint with GLP expands further.”
Lighting inside the 12-metre buildings will be DALI-controlled, with reduced demand for artificial light thanks to the number of skylights. In addition, access to roads and car parks on the premises will benefit from additional LED lighting. The roofs can also be fitted with PV panels on request. Tenants will be able to minimise utility expenses by monitoring energy, gas and water consumption in real-time using the smart metering system. The site also features bike shelters next to the buildings and charging stations for both electric cars and e-bikes at the car parks.
GLP Wroclaw V Logistics Centre is the largest warehouse development underway in the Wroclaw metropolitan area offering approx. 240,000 sqm of leasable space.
