Czech developer opens new retail park in Romania

Czech real estate developer RC Europe has opened its third retail park in Romania, following an investment of €9 million. The retail park, operating under the Nest brand, is located in Oradea, occupying approximately 6.500 sqm GLA. Construction works on the project started in October 2019.

Polish company to develop retail park network in Romania

Polish company Scallier is developing a new chain of retail parks in small and medium-sized Romanian cities under the Funshop Park brand. By 2022, 6 facilities with a total leasable area of ​​40,000 sqm will be completed. Work is currently underway to prepare further investments. Trei Real Estate opens new retail park near Bydgoszcz

Trei Real Estate GmbH has opened its 18th retail park under the Vendo Park brand in Poland. The retail property is located in Solec Kujawski in the Kuyavian-Pomeranian voivodship. The town of around 16,000 residents is located a two-hour drive south of Gdansk. The new Vendo Park provides a lettable area of around 3,000 square metres and 97 parking spots. The property is almost fully occupied. Its tenants include KiK, Sinsay, Martes Sport, RTV Euro AGD and Hebe, among others. Overall, Trei invested c. €3.8 million here.

Griffin Real Estate secures 83,000 sqm retail lease extension

A company from Chariot platform, managed by Griffin Real Estate, a private equity investor operating in the real estate sector, signed an agreement with Auchan Poland to extend the lease of its six retail properties totalling 83,000 sqm. The lease agreement was signed for a period of over 12 years. The transaction is certainly one of the largest retail leases that has been closed in Poland.

According to data from the Polish Council of Shopping Centers, footfall in shopping malls range from 62 to 73% when compared to last year’s numbers. The pandemic has changed the habits of Poles who are planning their shopping in a more thoughtful, cautious and safe way. In the new reality, small-format shops located close to home are attracting more visitors. By the end of May and after negotiations between owners and tenants had been completed, almost all shops in retail parks were operating. Some of these shops are now recording a turnover of 160% of pre-lockdown levels.

New leases

  • Amsterdam Standard, a Dutch technology company has moved into Kraków's Porto Office B office building. Its new office occupies nearly 600 sqm.
  • The brands Join UP! and SkyUpTM, previous tenants of space in the Adgar Wave office building in Warsaw, are relocating. They will continue to rent offices from Adgar Poland. The companies have moved into a 900-square-metre office previously occupied by employees of the building's owner.
  • An electronics manufacturer has leased nearly 11,000 sqm of manufacturing space at Prologis Park Wrocław V. The tenant belongs to a larger group of companies based in Hong Kong.This is the company's first headquarters in Poland.

New appointments

  • Dariusz Blocher has resigned from the position of chair of Unibep. The supervisory board has appointed Andrzej Sterczyński as president of the company from January 1st, 2025.
  • Agnieszka Słomka-Gołębiowska has resigned from her position as a member of the Supervisory Board and chair of the Audit Committee of Ghelamco Invest. The position of member of Ghelamco's Supervisory Board will be filled by Lidia Jabłonowska-Luby. An existing member of the Audit Committee, Jarosław Myjak, was also appointed to act as chairman of the Audit Committee.
  • MLP Group is from now on working with a smaller board of directors. Monika Dobosz has resigned from her position. She had served on the company's board since July 2022, when she was appointed to the board together with Agnieszka Góźdź.
