The Kampus Palace student housing project in the former Palace Hotel in the centre of Ostrava is being taken over by Purposia Group, an investment group with Czech roots, through its subsidiary development company Antracit, which is co-managed by former Ostrava mayor Tomáš Macura, reports E15.cz.
After more than a year of effort, Purposia Group completed the acquisition of one of Ostrava's largest hotel complexes. The transaction worth hundreds of millions of crowns, took place in the form of a buyout of 100 percent of the business shares of the previous owners. Until now, the hotel complex was owned by the company Palace Holding, which is majority controlled by the credit company Raiffeisen - Leasing, as well as the company Havlický Holding and the company Kampus Palace.
Purposia is taking over the project, including its operation, and is preparing a complete renovation of the remaining part of the complex. The intention is to build small-sized rental apartments, suitable primarily for students, young families and seniors, and subsequently create new commercial non-residential premises. Completion of the project is planned by 2030 at the latest. The development company Antracit from the Purposia holding will manage and operate the entire complex through a separate project company.
