The volume of real estate investments in Romania gained 4% year-on-year to €919.45 million, driven by office and industrial developments, according to a report by real estate consultancy Fortim T.A., a member of BNP Paribas Real Estate.
Office investments totaled €377 million, while industrial projects attracted some €284 million of new investments. The retail sector attracted €197,3 million in new investments, while public projects amounted to €6.4 million.
Research by Fortim T.A. shows that property investments in Romania totaled €885 million in 2020 and €714 million in 2019.
In Bucharest, Romania’s biggest office market, leasing activity totaled 187,896 sqm (net take up), up 32% y/y. The total stock reached 3.94 million sqm, while the vacancy rate grew slightly to 12.68% in Q4 2021.
