The industrial area of the former Aritma industrial building in Prague's Vokovice will be replaced by a residential district with park areas. After several years of negotiations, the Prague 6 municipal district, representatives of the local residents and the investor, Crestyl, have agreed on this. In addition to the construction of new villas and family houses, the agreement includes extensive compensation for local residents, announced Jakub Stárek, the mayor of the district.

The planned construction of a residential complex on the site of part of the former Aritma industrial building in Vokovice has won a key agreement. After several years of negotiations, representatives of the residents of Vokovice and the Prague 6 municipality have reached an agreement with the investor, Crestyl. As a result, apartment buildings with commercial space and surgeries will be built in Vokovice under strict conditions, and the investor will provide funds for the construction of a kindergarten and smart transport solutions for the entire Vokovice area.

Within the new residential project, 18 villas with a total of 224 apartments and six family houses will be built near the border with the forest land. The architectural and urban design of the buildings and public space emphasises the connection with the nearby forest. The entire area will also be opened up and made more accessible. The project is now in the planning procedure phase, all necessary permits have been obtained and construction is expected to start next year.

"We have continuously communicated with the representatives of local citizens and perceived their views on the situation in the locality. At the same time, we want Vokovice to develop its formerly industrial part, which had warehouse and production functions, to gain new life. We have thus managed to negotiate that the investor, in addition to the construction of the flats themselves, will provide quite extensive compensation from which the locals will be able to benefit. This is a very valuable agreement for which I want to thank all the participants," says Jakub Stárek, Mayor of Prague 6.

A kindergarten for 50 children will be built on the site of the former factory at the investor's expense, and after the building is approved, it will be transferred to Prague 6 free of charge. The project also envisages a separate building for public services. "The aim is to rent out these premises for a shop, doctors' offices or a café, for example. Of course, everything will serve the residents of the whole area," says Simon Johnson, Director of Crestyl. An intelligent traffic management system will also be built at the investor's expense to regulate the entry of cars into Vokovice. The junctions and local square will also be renovated and a new nature trail will be created in the nature reserve.
