The first company to lease premises at the new Panattoni Park Košice Airport was GGT, the largest distributor of tobacco products in Slovakia. They will move in later 2019. Panattoni Europe unveiled information about the first leaseholder at the ceremony to commence construction of the new, almost 8-hectare industrial park with modern manufacturing and warehousing facilities. Ideally located not far from the Košice Airport and with direct access to the D1 highway, this industrial park is the first development project of Panattoni Europe in Slovakia.
“The first lease agreement for the facilities at Panattoni Park Košice Airport was signed in record time, even before the construction work began. GGT will use the facilities to expand their business to the neighbouring markets, and I am convinced that their strategy will inspire other manufacturers, distributors and logistic companies,” explains Erik Ivaničko, Development Manager for Slovakia at Panattoni Europe and head of the recently opened branch office in Bratislava.
“Košice is going through a major transformation which started roughly in 2013 – that year the town became the European Capital of Culture and, for some time already, it had been a local hub of the booming IT industry. I am happy that we can contribute to this transformation and help the region to develop even further. It has great potential, not only thanks to the good road infrastructure but also because there is skilled workforce available in the area and the companies can benefit from cooperation with the local university,” said Pavel Sovička, Managing Director for the Czech Republic and Slovakia at Panattoni Europe.
