Panattoni has begun the construction of a new 31,000 sqm industrial park on the site of the former Kavalier glassworks in Hostomice near Teplice in Central Bohemia.
Panattoni Park Teplice South will be a CZK 500 million investment offering facilities for light manufacturing, the distribution of goods and will provide up to 300 new jobs. The first 5,800 sqm building, for sanitary goods retailer Sanitino, is to be built in the first phase.
“The transformation of a brownfield site into a modern industrial park is, on the one hand, always an unpredictable venture, and, on the other, a fascinating experience, mainly for two reasons. Firstly, you are provided with the unique opportunity to get to know the story of the original business – in this case, the largest domestic cooking glass manufacturer. And secondly, you find yourself in a kind of recycling laboratory where the circular economy can be pushed into new territory. In Hostomice, for example, when preparing the foundations, we want to use recycle the old buildings for to use as new materials,” said Pavel Sovička, Managing Director for the Czech Republic and Slovakia at Panattoni.
