Panattoni is extending Panattoni Park Gdańsk Airport to meet the needs of a new tenant. Leading logistics operator PEKAES is to take up 11,500 sqm with a further 4,000 sqm secured for its future expansion. From March 2021 the tenant will have both traditional warehouse and cross-docking space at its disposal.
The tenant's building will be divided into two sections. One part will be warehouse space while the other will be a cross-docking area with 34 dock houses as well as an outdoor loading platform of 3.5m x 63m. Furthermore, there are 34 sectional doors with glazing, one ground level drive-in gate and three-segmented gates leading onto the loading platform. In the building, the tenant will also have 800 sqm of office space at its disposal. PEKAES will begin its operations in Panattoni Park Gdańsk Airport in March 2021. The development is to take around half a year and the building is to meet BREEAM certification requirements for a rating of 'Very Good'. This modern cross-docking terminal will strengthen the logistic operator's country-wide distribution network in Poland and assure quicker and smoother processing of a greater number of both domestic and international parcel deliveries.
The complex is just next to Gdańsk Lech Wałęsa Airport, 18 km from the Port of Gdańsk – one of the most important shipping points in Europe – and 15 km from the centre of the city. Moreover, numerous roads nearby allow for efficient transport both across the region and across the entire country. The park is also well connected to the TriCity's public transport system, being nearby a Pomeranian Metropolitan Railway train station as well as a bus stop.
Panattoni Park Gdańsk Airport is the largest development owned by Panattoni in Pomerania. Eventually, the park will have an area of almost 107,000 sqm in four buildings and already tenants have leased 87,000 sqm. In August development is to start on a 39,626 sqm hall, where PEKAES is to be based. All the buildings include office space of the highest quality, warehouse space and the most up to date systems for handling freight. The park includes a large manoeuvring area ground level gates and flexible modules.
