Panattoni Europe is expanding Central European Logistics Hub. The new tenant at the developer’s largest distribution centre is the Media Expert chain, which will take up a facility with approx. 73,300 sqm of space. Construction works will start in Q2 of 2018.
Panattoni Europe’s client portfolio has a new addition, the Media Expert chain – one of the biggest players in the home appliance/consumer electronics market in Poland. As part of its strategy of consolidating smaller warehouse facilities into a central warehouse, the chain has leased 73,300 sqm at Central European Logistics Hub developed by Panattoni. It is Poland’s largest distribution centre, based in Łódź. The investment designed for Media Expert will be divided into the warehousing section, taking up 72,000 sqm, and office space with staff facilities totalling 1,300 sqm. The function of the new facility will be the distribution of online orders, as well as logistics to supply products to the brick-and-mortar stores of the chain. The facility will undergo BREEAM environmental certification. Commencement of construction works has been planned for Q2 of 2018.
“The facility for Media Expert will be built as part of Central European Logistics Hub – the largest distribution centre in Poland that we are creating, a concentrator of modern warehouse space, so to speak. Its first tenant was BSH Sprzęt Gospodarstwa Domowego, which took up a building with close to 80,000 sqm, and as early as this June SMYK will be moving into a facility dedicated to its online sales, planned to reach 70,000 sqm at full build-out,” comments Marek Dobrzycki, Managing Director, Panattoni Europe.
Panattoni Europe’s Central European Logistics Hub is situated at ul. Jędrzejowska, right next to the A1 – the only Polish motorway running north-south. The hub is just 30 km away from the Łódź Północ junction, where the A1 and A2 motorways intersect.
