The abandoned brownfield of the former Poldi Kladno steel mill in the Czech Republic is soon to be transformed. On a large part of the area belonging to the RSJ investment group, the developer Panattoni has started construction of industrial halls this summer, reports E15.cz.
The RSJ Group wants to build two large industrial halls here by 2025 for CZK 3 billion (€118 million). The land is currently undergoing demolition of the underground parts of the original buildings and rough groundworks. A part of the construction material from the demolition will be recycled.
It is not yet clear which tenants will occupy the new premises, although the city of Kladno has expressed the wish that rather than warehouse space there would be production on-site, which could bring more job opportunities to Kladno. According to Marcel Kolesár, Manager at RSJ, the new development should contribute to restoring the region's economic potential. The halls will be adapted for logistics and light production. The D5, D6 and D7 highways, Kladno-Švermov railway station and Václav Havel Prague Airport are located near the complex. An expressway connecting Prague, the airport and Kladno is also under construction.
