Atenor progresses with new Budapest project

Atenor announced that its latest large-scale Budapest project, Aréna Business Campus has secured its first two signed lease contracts for the first building. More than 700 sqm ground floor area has been leased to Costa Coffee and a medical centre, one year prior to the building’s handover.

Microsoft and Skanska partner up in Poland

Microsoft and Skanska’s office unit in Poland have signed an agreement on strategic cooperation in the area of PropTech. It provides for expert knowledge exchange and the use of advanced data analytics solutions, AI mechanisms and cloud computing to create breakthrough innovations for the office real estate sector. The partners will also work together to develop presentations of Skanska's development projects using mixed reality and Microsoft HoloLens glasses and the analytical part of the Connected by Skanska system.

Timișoara office building receives LEED certification

United Business Center 2 (UBC 2) in Timișoara was awarded a LEED Gold certification. UBC 2 adds up to 18,000 sqm leasable area and was opened in early 2017. The building is a part of the Openville Timișoara mixed-use project currently developed by Iulius and Atterbury Europe in the vicinity of Iulius Mall.

Echo Investment plans 250,000 sqm of new office developments

In 2018, Echo Investment signed lease agreements for a total office area of nearly 80,000 sqm. This year also seems to be busy - the company plans to start construction of approximately 100,000 sqm of offices including in Warsaw, Wrocław, Łódź and Kraków. Projects with a total area of 150,000 sqm are being prepared.

C&W ranks top office building owners and developers

Cushman & Wakefield has mapped the office property market in detail and made a chart of the largest owners and the most active developers of office buildings in the main markets of the Czech Republic. At this point, there is 4.23 million sqm of office space in the Czech Republic. CPI Group is the biggest owner with 22 properties taking up 5% of the total area. The three biggest office owners in Prague control about 15% of the entire market. Penta Investments has been the most active developer over the course of the last ten years.

Globalworth internalises PM of Polish assets

Globalworth Poland has taken further steps to manage its Polish real estate portfolio in-house. Between December and January, the company took on the property management of Lumen and Skylight in Warsaw, West Gate in Wrocław, the A4 Business Park in Katowice and Tryton Business House in Gdańsk. Since the company entered the market, Globalworth has gradually internalized the property management of a series of buildings and now handles directly 250,000 sqm in only about one year, which constitutes almost 60% of its portfolio in Poland.

Latest news


New leases

  • Arla Global Shared Services will move its local headquarters to the Punkt office building in Gdańsk. The company has leased nearly 10,000 sqm of space, to which it will move in early 2026.
  • Spanish clothing brand Zara, owned by Inditex, is closing its shop in the Wars Sawa Junior complex in Warsaw. Its place will be taken by Uniqlo, which has been operating in the facility as a pop-up store since 2021. The Japanese-origin clothing brand Uniqlo has so far been present in the complex in the form of a temporary shop of around 800 sqm. The space vacated by Zara has allowed the brand to occupy almost 1,800 sqm.
  • Sellpy has leased 6,000 sqm in Industra Park Arad, owned by Oresa Industra. The deal was brokered by Activ Property Services.

New appointments

  • Colliers has announced the appointment of Grzegorz Sielewicz as Head of the Economic and Market Analysis Department for Central and Eastern Europe (CEE). His role will cover Bulgaria, the Czech Republic, Hungary, Poland, Slovakia, and Romania.
  • Genesis Property has appointed Flavia Schoech as COO, tasked with leading the development and alignment of the operational strategy of the developer.
  • Beata Rodziewicz joins the Corees Polska team as Leasing Director. She will be responsible for the commercialisation of office buildings.
