Duna House has released its monthly transaction estimate, showing that there were 10,859 residential property transactions in Hungary in June 2022. This marks a 13% decline over May and a 20% drop compared to the number of transactions recorded last June.

Summer is in full swing in Hungary's residential property market. Duna House estimates that the number of residential property transactions totalled 10,859, down both in monthly (-13%) and annual (-20%) terms.

DH says nearly 75,000 residential properties changed hands in the first half of the year, which corresponds to a 10% drop over H1 2021, but a 25% growth over the same period of the pandemic-ridden first half of 2020. The second half of the year is expected to be more subdued due to the rising interest rate environment.
