The Jumbo toy retailer invests €35 million in its first warehouse in Romania, Profit.ro announced.

The 17.8-hectare land on which the warehouse is built was bought last year from Alpha Real Estate Services, the real estate division of the Greek bank Alpha Bank, at a price of €2.8 million. The lot is part of the logistics park developed by the Poles from MLP Group in Popești-Leordeni and taken over by Alpha Bank in 2014, on account of debts. Alpha Bank also sold about 20 hectares of the same logistics park to CTP.

Jumbo has launched the construction of a storage unit and two buildings of office buildings, with one floor each. The warehouse has a total built area of over 75,000 sqm, the offices are almost 500 sqm and are reserved over 8 hectares for green spaces. The deadline is the first semester of next year.

This is the first warehouse made by Jumbo on the Romanian market, where it owns 14 hypermarkets, which generate an annual turnover of over €150 million.
