Palas Campus, the largest office building in Romania, developed by Romanian developer Iulius in Iași, has achieved two green certifications.

The office complex with a leasable area of 60,000 sqm was completed last year with the support of a green loan of €72 million from the International Finance Corporation (IFC), a member of the World Bank.

Palas Campus has secured the EDGE certification by the IFC, and LEED Platinum, the highest LEED certification level granted by the U.S. Green Building Council.

“The fact that Palas Campus obtained the first green financing in Romania, and now achieved a double green EDGE and LEED certification, can only make us happy and reconfirms that we are making notable progress towards a greener and more sustainable future,” said Dan Adrian Chelaru, Group Sustainability Officer at Iulius.

This is the second office building holding a double green certification in the Iulius portfolio, after United Business Center 0, part of the Iulius Town Timișoara mixed-use complex.

The certification project was managed with the assistance of BuildGreen.
