CTP announced a new aggressive growth plan to achieve a portfolio size of 10 million sqm by 2023. In order to reach this ambitious goal, CTP is taking steps towards various options to further strengthen its capital base and enhance its growth prospects. The company is currently considering partnering with a strategic investor.

In 2019, the stock of modern industrial and logistic facilities in Romania reached 4.6 million square meters, up by approximately 10% compared to the previous year. Nearly 9% of the total stock was delivered just in 2019 and the market has potential to almost double to 8 million square meters in the next years, closing the gap between Romania and other CEE markets, according to Colliers International.

The annual leasing volume on Poland’s industrial market reached 3.75 million sqm in 2019. The market grew by a record-breaking 2.8 million sqm while 1.9 million sqm of space is under construction. JLL summarised the industrial market in Poland for 2019.

Panattoni has launched the construction of 25,000 sqm at Panattoni Park Legnica, out of 90,000 sqm planned. The first facility will accommodate the Polish production site of global e-commerce company Spreadshirt Group. Already in August 2020, the company will be taking up in excess of 11,000 sqm of production and warehouse space at the upcoming facility. The lease was mediated by JLL.

At the end of 2019, Poland’s total industrial stock topped 18.6 million sqm, with warehouse supply hitting a record high of 2.72 million sqm in the past 12 months. Prologis has been named the top real estate company on the 2020 Global 100 Most Sustainable Corporations in the World List. This annual ranking of corporate sustainability performance also put Prologis at #6 among U.S. companies and #26 overall. The announcement was made at the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland.

7R is the first warehouse developer in Poland to create an innovative eco-friendly warehouse – 7R Green. The company's main goal is to provide facilities in which ecological solutions will help minimize their impact on the natural environment. Construction of the first warehouse, designed in keeping with the new green concept, will start in the first half of the year.

Element Industrial has completed the first phase of the Eli Park 1 logistics park in Chitila, northwest of Bucharest. The 20,000 sqm warehouse is leased to appliance producer Arctic, part of Turkish group Arcelik.

Total demand on the Budapest industrial market amounted to 88,230 sqm in Q4 2019, indicating a 16% decrease on a yearly basis. Leasing activity was driven by renewals (86%), followed by expansion (12.8%) and new leases (2.6%). The Budapest Research Forum published its quarterly industrial market analysis.

Panattoni Europe continues its expansion in north-eastern Poland. The developer has leased out 100 per cent of space at Panattoni Park Białystok I and announced the development of the second distribution centre in the heart of Podlasie. Additional 35,000 sqm will be delivered this year at Panattoni Park Białystok II.
