In February 2024, ID Logistics will start operations for one of the largest clothing distributors in the world. The company will occupy all of Panattoni Park Poznań West Gate II in Tarnowo Podgórne (47,000 sqm in total), with the new centre to be used to consolidate the operations of other locations.
“We have been extraordinarily active working with ID Logistics over the last five years. We have delivered a total of over 200,000 sqm to the operator including in Zgorzelec, Krzyżowice, Wola Rakowa and around the Warsaw region. Our excellent relationship so far and the fact we had an appropriate building available immediately formed the basis for our latest joint project in Tarnowo Podgórne,” comments Katarzyna Kujawiak, the Development Director at Panattoni.
The logistics operator has taken the decision to lease all of Panattoni Park Poznań West Gate II with an area of 47,000 sqm including almost 2,000 sqm of office space. The company serves the e-commerce market in Poland as well as across Europe for an international clothing distributor. Eventually, over 300 people are going to be employed in the centre.
Among other things, the developer is preparing a zone for order completions. The distribution centre is also to have specialist equipment for steam pressing clothing as well as a system for putting clothes on hangers. Furthermore, Panattoni has introduced a range of solutions to improve work comfort. The developer is to place additional light strips in the ceiling, above the dock and side wall areas as well as install glass gates. The well-being solutions have been supplemented with a range of energy- and water-saving technologies and the centre is to undergo BREEAM environmental certification for a rating of Excellent.
It is projected that the European e-commerce market could grow from $590 billion at the end of 2023 to $890 billion in the space of five years. This massive potential growth is largely due to the fashion industry, whose products according to the Omni-Commerce 2023 report are most readily purchased online. “The rise of internet fashion also means a huge requirement for modern logistics and distribution centres to serve online sales. Having already developed over 4 mln sqm for the e-commerce sector, we have proven ourselves to be a trusted partner for the largest players in the market,” surmises Katarzyna Kujawiak from Panattoni.
The development leased in entirety by ID Logistics is not the developer’s first in Tarnowo Podgórne. Panattoni Park Poznań West Gate I with an area of 61,000 sqm is almost fully commercialised including almost 40,000 sqm leased by a company from the logistics industry.
