The Brutalist monument in the centre of Prague has been closed for up to 2 years for reconstruction, reports Newstream.cz. The internal layout of the building is going to change, converting some of the floors into offices.

The lower floors of the iconic department store on Králodvorská and Revoluční Streets in the centre of the Czech capital will house luxury shops and the upper floors will be redesigned into offices. The surroundings of the building will also undergo a fundamental transformation, for example, the current entrance to the food store will disappear. There are now sale and liquidation notices on the building. Some shops inside are already cleared out.

As of 2020, the building is owned by Generali Real Estate, which bought it from PSN. The seven-floor building with a total area of 28,000 sqm was opened in 1975.
