A total of 14,193 residential properties were sold in Hungary in May, real estate group Duna House said in its monthly Transaction Estimate. This marks the strongest May in the market for the past couple of years as the figure was 5% higher than in May 2019.

Following an average April, the residential property market closed May, a longer month, with slight growth. The 14,193 transactions estimated by Duna House, the highest May figure in recent years, were 5% higher than in May 2019 and nearly 70% higher than last May's low amidst the first wave of the coronavirus pandemic.

According to Duna House's forecast, transaction volumes in the second quarter will not surpass the outstanding Q1 result.
