German HR Group has taken over the Vienna House Easy Airport Bucharest near Henri Coanda Airport as part of a wider deal that involved the purchase of all Vienna House properties from Vienna House Capital and U City.
In a separate deal, Wyndham Hotels & Resorts paid HR Group €44 million to acquire the Vienna House brand, which comprises 40 hotels with more than 6,000 rooms, according to profit.ro, which reported first on the purchase of the Bucharest-based hotel. The portfolio of Vienna House by Wyndham hotels totals 42 hotels.
Following the transaction, the hotel near Bucharest was rebranded as Vienna House Easy by Wyndham Bucharest Airport. It has 177 rooms and four conference halls.
The merger with Vienna House brings the number of hotels owned, leased, and managed by HR Group to 145 as well as 20 signed projects.
