Hillwood Polska has started the construction of a new logistics centre in the Górna district of Łódź. The complex, which is scheduled to come into use in Q3 2023, will comprise more than 97,000 sqm of warehouse space.
"Thanks to its location in the heart of the country, close to the junction of the A1 and A2 motorways, Łódź has become one of the most important locations on Poland’s logistics map. It is an ideal reloading point, where the sorting plants of the largest courier companies or warehouses for the e-commerce sector can be built," commented Hubert Michalak, CEO of Hillwood Polska
The logistics centre is being built on ul. Pabianicka, 8 km south of the city centre and just off national road No. 14. During the construction phase, Hillwood will also build a road with a roundabout, which will directly connect the national road No. 14 with the Pietrzak roundabout. The investment costs for the construction of the road, which will be transferred to the local authorities upon completion, are estimated at PLN 7 million.
The warehouse hall under construction will be 12 m in height. The project will be submitted for BREEAM ‘Excellent’ certification.
