The Magyar Posta Takarék Real Estate Investment Fund (MPTIA), managed by Gránit Asset Management, has made its first international investment, expanding its portfolio and marking a significant step in its growth strategy.

Gránit Asset Management said the €10 million investment in Limestone Capital’s Amethyst Fund II SCSp signifies MPTIA's commitment to diversification and competitiveness.

With over €1 billion in assets, MPTIA, the third-largest public real estate fund in Hungary, has previously focused on domestic investments in office, logistics, retail, and residential properties.

Swiss-based private equity firm Limestone Capital specializes in the experience economy, focusing on value-add real estate investments in the global travel and hospitality sectors. Their portfolio includes prominent hospitality platforms such as Aethos Hotels and prime real estate in key European locations such as London and Milan.

Álmos Mikesy, Chairman of the Board and CEO of Gránit Asset Management, said: “Through Limestone Capital's successful real estate strategy, we are not only investing in a valuable asset but also gaining access to the portfolio management of a hotel portfolio whose know-how can provide a long-term competitive advantage for the fund,” says Mikesy.

Gránit Asset Management is a Hungarian institutional investor managing 24 investment funds, with more than €2.7 billion in assets.
