Globalworth has worked with Signify to deliver the first implementation of a light-wave wireless communication solution in the CEE region. Trulifi is available in the Warsaw office building Spektrum Tower. Investments in new technologies improving the use of the office buildings managed by the company are one of the pillars of Globalworth's development strategy in Poland.
At the beginning of the 19th century, only 3% of the world's population lived in cities. Today, half of humanity is concentrated in smaller or larger agglomerations, and by 2050 this percentage is expected to rise to 75%. We already spend 90% of our time inside buildings. Therefore, technologies that make buildings easier to use and manage as well as to improve urban life are the future of the real estate sector.
The boom on technological solutions in the real estate industry results primarily from the needs of tenants. According to CBRE EMEA Occupier Survey 2019, 46% of companies can pay 10% more for office rent space if it is in a building providing access to modern technological solutions. 70% of organizations surveyed by CBRE intend to increase investments in proptech solutions in the next three years, and 83% assume that technologies such as artificial intelligence or machine learning will have a significant impact on their business soon.
“At Globalworth, we recognize the changes taking place in the real estate market. We know that it is worth becoming an important part of the digital transformation of our sector. It’s a vital part of our strategy. Willingness to look after our tenants' interests is one of our key values. We want to deliver not only modern office space in excellent locations but also new technologies that make it easier and more comfortable to use those spaces. Due to these needs, we started cooperation with Signify on the first implementation of Trulifi technology in the CEE region. It offers not only the fast and secure Internet connection but also a high level of data security” says Grzegorz Strutyński, Commercial Director at Globalworth Poland.
Instead of radio signals (such as WiFi, 4G/5G, Bluetooth, etc.), Trulifi uses light waves to enable reliable, safe, two-way wireless communication at speeds far superior to most conventional wireless technologies used in the workplace. Globalworth has installed Trulifi 6002 technology in three conference rooms in its Spektrum Tower property in Warsaw. This series supports offices, healthcare, hospitality and transport markets.
Signify's solution is based on optical, wireless transmitter-receivers that are built into (or can be added to) Philips branded luminaires. This means that users don't have to remove and replace existing lighting infrastructure to get superior light quality and wireless connectivity. Installed in the Globalworth’s office solution includes Trulifi devices, which use infrared light waves to support wireless connectivity at up to 150 megabits per second. They provide wireless connectivity in any lighting condition – even with the lights off. The transmission speed is high enough to stream 30 1080p (HDTV) movies simultaneously. A USB receiver connected to a laptop is needed to receive a LiFi signal and acts as a transmitter to send data back to the mount.
“While radio frequencies are becoming more and more congested, the light spectrum is an untapped resource with a large bandwidth. Trulifi from Signify guarantees ultra-fast, reliable and stable data transmission. Being a lighting company, we ensure that our customers benefit from the finest quality energy efficient light along with state-of-the-art connectivity” explains Radosław Buczkowski, head of Signify's design department.
Trulifi technology installed in three conference rooms allowing for safe and fast data transmission through light waves is one of many innovations in lighting that can be found in the Globalworth office in Warsaw. The concept of a new development of the office space was created for its employees, but also for future tenants. Human Centric Lighting, which is adapted to the rhythm of the human biological clock and responds to changing times of the day and atmospheric conditions, has been installed throughout Globalworth's office space.
The office users also have the possibility of almost full personalization of their working environment. Thanks to the intuitive application, they can easily change the settings of light or temperature at their desk from a smartphone. On the other hand, special wall panels installed in conference rooms enable easy selection of light scenes depending on the need: other for teleconferences, presentations in front of the client or creative meetings. Employees who need silence will be able to use rooms where special noise suppressing luminaires have been installed. On the other hand, information screens located at the reception desk, thanks to the connection with the intelligent lighting system, show the availability of conference rooms on an ongoing basis. What connects the solutions implemented in the Spektrum Tower is the fact that they are aimed at improving the comfort of office users, while increasing their efficiency.
