by Property Forum | Industrial

Transport and logistics company Gebrüder Weiss has kicked off the construction of a new logistics project in Popești Leordeni, near Bucharest in a move designed to increase its storage capacity in the market.

The new logistics terminal will have a storage area of 13,500 sqm, while another 3,400 sqm will be covered by cross-docking operations. The project will be completed by the end of this year.

"The increasing daily traffic congestion in Bucharest has made a second hub in the east of the city necessary. The new solution with two logistics terminals in Bucharest makes distribution in and around the capital city more efficient,” said Thomas Moser, Director and Regional Manager Black Sea/CIS Gebrüder Weiss.

Across Romania, the company has storage and cross-docking facilities with a combined surface of more than 85,000 sqm near Bucharest and in regional cities of the likes of Cluj-Napoca, Constanța and Craiova.
