Romania Sotheby’s International Realty has listed for sale the building of the former Odeon Theatre in Galați for €690,000. Originally built in 1911 by Apostol P. Papadopol, an eminent merchant and appreciated philanthropist, the former Odeon Theatre is a historical and cultural landmark. The building was recognized by the press of its time as “The most elegant theatre in Galați.”
The building has its original architectural elements intact, including the meticulously renovated façade, according to Sotheby’s.
”The interior, awaiting a new destination, offers endless possibilities. Viewers and investors can reimagine this space as a special cinema, reviving the golden age of cinema, or as a magnificent theatre for exciting live performances. It also has the potential to be transformed into a prestigious restaurant, an exclusive venue to host unforgettable events or a vibrant cultural centre,” said the agency managing the sale in a press release.
In the same city, Romania Sotheby’s International Realty has previously sold Auschnitt House, an emblematic building which has hosted various commercial activities, such as a casino and restaurant, in recent years.
