Gdańsk based developer EDS Retail Park has won the bidding to buy six Tesco stores, which it intends to convert into retail parks with a total of 29,000 sqm GLA.
Last year, Tesco announced that it was leaving Poland. In the latest round of property auctions, stores in Bolesławiec, Żywiec, Malbork, Krasnystaw, Krapkowice and Kościan were sold. The new retail parks are to be mainly anchored by the Netto supermarket chain although EDS is currently negotiating with other grocery operators. The sales price remains undisclosed and Colliers is responsible for the rebranding and commercialisation of the six centres.
