December was the weakest month in 2022 in terms of sales and loans taken out to buy homes, local brokerage firm Duna House (DH) reports.
There were only 6474 transactions last month which is the worst result in 2022. Estimated figures in December were 19% lower than in November and 43% lower on a year-on-year basis. DH expects to register only 125,171 transactions for the whole of 2022 which will be a 22% decline compared to the previous year.
No gain is projected for the year 2023, DH added. The firm's estimate is even lower than for the last year, expecting only 90,000 to 110,000 transactions this year.
DH's lending arm Credipass reported a sharp decrease in loans. There were only HUF 55 billion in loans taken out in December, 8% less than in November. This is a 48% decline on a y-o-y basis.
