by Property Forum | Industrial

VGP has concluded a lease contract with Dachser Czech Republic for the lease of new space in VGP Park České Budějovice, situated in the Světlík commercial zone. The hall, with an area of 14,000 sqm will be tailor-made for Dachser, a leading provider of logistic services in Europe. The expected completion date and delivery of premises for use is already in October of this year. The company currently leases another hall in the park, with a total area of 9,424 sqm and with the new building will be expanding its operations at that same location.

“We provide our tenants with both stability and great flexibility in the long term. We are able to respond quickly to their needs and offer them additional space to support their growth and further expansion. The cooperation with Dachser is a prime example. We are pleased to have been a reliable partner for them to turn to with their expansion requirements and that we have been capable to provide them with an adequate solution,” comments David Plzák, VGP Country Manager for the Czech Republic, adding: “As with our other parks, we strive to build within the České Budějovice area in the most environmentally friendly manner possible. For all newly constructed buildings, including this hall at VGP Park České Budějovice, we endeavour to achieve the BREEAM Excellent green certification. We will take care of planting of vegetation around the site, which we see as a standard and a matter of course.”

The international logistics service provider Dachser Czech Republic already moved its South Bohemian branch to the VGP Park in České Budějovice last year. The favourable location of the park with its connection to the highway network is an ideal prerequisite for the development of the collection service in which Dachser specializes. The company will use the new premises in this new hall for its ever-growing area of business – contract logistics. Thanks to the expansion of its capacities in southern Bohemia, the company will create 40 new jobs.

"We are pleased that these specific logistics services are receiving a good response from our customers in the south of Bohemia and that this enables us to grow together with them," says Ing. Jan Pihar, CEO of Dachser Czech Republic a.s. He adds: "Opening two warehouse buildings in such a short period of time is truly unique in the region. We, therefore, appreciate the cooperation with VGP, which meets us in the speed of construction and in our requirements for the standard of the buildings and which is building an industrial park with regard both to the comfort of its users and the requirements of the  logistics of the future.”

VGP Park České Budějovice is being built right on the outskirts of the city in the Světlík commercial zone. With excellent transport links to the city centre and direct access to the D3 motorway connecting Prague and Linz in Austria, the location is ideal for logistics and light manufacturing. The entire complex with seven halls and more than 126,000 square meters of lettable area will gradually be developed on a 37-hectare site. In co‑operation with the city, a public parking lot will be built for 30 trucks, which currently have insufficient parking capacity. Construction of the park also includes the reconstruction of a cycling path and the revitalisation of a nearby pond to support local biodiversity and water retention in the landscape.
