Construction authorities in the Czech Republic are again allowed to use the construction management systems, which have been applicable until July 1 2024, reports E15.cz. Since then the completely new system has been in practice and proved rather troublesome bringing complaints from all sides.
Builders will submit project documentation in digital form. The amendment to the Construction Act nicknamed „bypass“, which was already approved by deputies in the first reading in an accelerated mode, takes this into account. The amendment is intended to overcome difficulties with the digitisation of construction management in the Czech Republic.
Builders and officials struggled with digitised construction management systems since they were launched in July 2024. The situation at the end of September resulted in the dismissal of the then Minister for Regional Development Ivan Bartoš (Pirates) from the government and the subsequent departure of his party to the opposition.
In October, the government decided to issue a new contract for the digital construction management system. At the same time, it also allowed the original systems to be used temporarily with those launched this summer. The newly created system is supposed to start functioning from the beginning of 2028 at the latest.
