Budex has opened the building housing the headquarters for its companies GoMobil, Roboton and Terms this autumn in Plana near České Budějovice in South Bohemia. The massing of the building combines a hybrid construction with a reinforced concrete core and CLT wooden elements.

The building with a floor plan of 22.8 × 28.8 m offers more than 2,300 sqm of usable space. At 17.2 meters, the Budex Hub is the tallest wooden office building in the Czech Republic. It has been designed in the A category passive standard and uses solar energy all year round, stored in battery storage, ensuring a high level of energy self-sufficiency. The house uses energy from the sun and deep underground wells. Solar panels on the roof of the parking lot are used to power chargers for electric cars and trucks.

The facility also includes outdoor growing areas and a greenhouse, where fresh vegetables are grown for the kitchen and fresh bars, with a capacity for up to 200 people. Thanks to autonomous agricultural robots, food production is carried out without chemical inputs and independent from the global market.

The main material of the building construction is massive spruce wood. Initially, the investors intended to build the company's headquarters out of concrete. Architects from Studio Perspektiv made them change the concept. They also based the interior design on the visual elements of Novatop panels to ensure a uniform and harmonious appearance of all wooden surfaces with fine details.

The construction with 900 cubic metres of wood took 2 years to complete with an opening in September 2024.
