Atrium has sold the shopping mall Optima in Košice, Slovakia. The company wants to focus on its core markets, Warsaw and Prague from now.
Atrium, the real estate owner, developer and operator of shopping centres and residential properties for rent in Central Europe has completed the disposal of its Optima Shopping Centre in Košice, the city in eastern Slovakia by the Hungarian border. The transaction is for €118 million, equivalent to its book value, as the company reported. The decision to change the shopping mall'ss ownership is following the Atrium´s current company strategy to focus more on the regions of the Polish and Czech capitals.
Atrium is one of the largest retail owners in the region with retail centres across Central Europe. The company is specialising in dominant food, fashion and entertainment, anchored shopping centres in prime urban locations, with a focus on Warsaw and Prague. Atrium owns 26 income-producing properties (including one residential for rent property) with a total gross leasable area of over 760 sqm and with a total market value of approximately €2.3 billion.
